Uuteen tupaan / For a new home

A friend of mine also had a summer of big changes. Not only did they get a new house, they also changed cities. So a while back we hopped into our car and drove to visit them, which was a huge change to the three minute walk that was between our previous homes.

Tämä suuri muutos ansaitsi tietenkin arvoisensa tuliaiset.

This big change obviously deserved some gifts too.

For the whole family we gave a set of towels and some badges to name them with. Perhaps these were mostly to my friend though :)
For the first time ever I made something with fimo clay, or cernit clay to be exact. It was fun to try this, though it was much harder to work with than I had thought. And I am not 100% satisfied with the end result, but nobody's perfect on their first try, right? Or as an old finnish saying goes: Nobody is a blacksmith when they are born. I wonder what that origins from?! :) So I must keep on practicing, all I need is new ideas.

Pyyhesetti antoi kivasti inspiraation korttiin ja tällainen siitä tuli.

The set of towels gave nice inspiration to the card and this is how it turned out.

Mistä on kortti tehty? /
What is the card made of?
Paperit / papers : Papermania Textured cardstock
Kuviot ja teksti / designs and sentiment : Silhouette Cameo
Glitter: Martha Stewart Crafts
Nauha / ribbon : Kars

Isommalle perheen tytöistä tein leikkikeittiöön omat pyyhkeet sekä virkatun pannulapun, joka valitettavasti jäi kuvaamatta.

For the older of the family's two girls I made these tea towels for her play kitchen. I also crocheted a pot holder but unfortunately forgot to take a picture of it.
Pienemmälle murulle tein enemmänkin ehkä äitiä miellyttävän lahjan, taulun jossa on koottuna pienen tytön elämän kulmakiviä. Inspiraatio täältä. Värit valikoituivat tytön oman huoneen värien mukaisesti.
Samanlaisen haluaisin tehdä Pihlastakin. Täytyy kaivaa vauvakirja esille niin saa faktat kohdilleen :)

For the younger darling I made something that I would assume mom to be more interested in; a poster with the milestones of a little girl's life so far. I got the inspiration here. The colors were picked based on the colors of her room.
I would like to make a similar one of my Pihla too. So I need to dig out the baby books and gather the facts.

Tekeleiden taustalla näkyy pientä esimakua uudesta ihanasta askarteluhuoneestani. Pysykäähän langoilla, lisätietoa ja kuvamateriaalia on luvassa.

In the pictures behind these projects you can catch a sneak preview of my new and oh-so-lovely craft room. Stay tuned, more information and pictures are just around the corner.
